The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Practitioner Psychologist to join our in-house clinical team and deliver psychological assessment and intervention to pupils with a range of needs. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a supportive, multidisciplinary team in a rewarding education setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver psychological assessment and intervention to pupils with developmental trauma, neurodivergent needs, or SEMH challenges.
  • Work within the standards provided by the OFG Psychological Practice Ways of Working.
  • Maintain a psychological caseload with the support of a clinical supervisor and site lead.
  • Contribute to school development, staff training, and consultation as required.
  • Develop formulations and use them to inform clinical intervention plans and recommendations.
  • Deliver training to different cohorts of people within the school.
  • Write coherent and accurate clinical records, including reports and intervention plans.
  • Communicate effectively with families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Registered Educational/Forensic/Counselling/Clinical Psychologist
  • Doctoral level degree in Clinical/Counselling/Forensic/Educational Psychology (or equivalent)
  • Relevant previous experience working with related client groups
  • Experience of effective multi-disciplinary working
  • Experience of communicating with families and carers
  • Experience of working at different systems within an organisation
  • Experience of using the model: ‘assess, plan, do and review’
  • Experience of using consultation as a method of service delivery
  • Competence in all core areas of psychological practice
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and neuro-diversity
  • Ability to develop and deliver training
  • Ability to write coherent and accurate clinical records
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective IT skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a range of professionals
  • Ongoing evidence of CPD
  • Ability to use evaluation tools
  • Ability to make independent clinical decisions
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills

Preferred

  • Experience of working with neuro-diverse and/or SEMH client groups
  • Experience of providing supervision to others
  • Knowledge of current philosophies and principles underpinning services
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Post-qualification training in topics related to the role
  • Training in evidence-based interventions
