The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons tailored to young learners.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes curiosity and creativity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary units and support student development.
  • Assess and document student progress effectively and consistently.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and the school community about student learning and well-being.
  • Participate in school events, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Design educational materials that align with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Support the school’s ethos and values through daily interactions with students and colleagues.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong knowledge of Pre-School education and child development.
  • University degree or official certification in early childhood education.
  • Ability to design educational materials that support curriculum goals.
  • Experience working in an international or bilingual educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with inquiry-based learning approaches.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • Familiarity with British or Portuguese curriculum frameworks.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese.
  • Previous experience in a school with a ‘Warm-Strict’ ethos.
