The Opportunity:

A qualified and energetic Primary Music Teacher and Coordinator is needed to deliver high-quality music education and lead the music curriculum and extracurricular activities. This role combines classroom teaching with strategic leadership to inspire a love of music in young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging music lessons aligned with curriculum requirements.
  • Inspire a love of music through inclusive, practical, and creative teaching methods.
  • Teach core musical skills such as singing, rhythm, notation, listening, composing, and performing.
  • Support students with SEND and EAL through differentiated teaching strategies.
  • Assess and report on student progress in line with school policies.
  • Coordinate and lead music performances, choirs, and extracurricular activities.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of music resources and equipment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate music into thematic learning and school events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in primary music education.
  • Strong knowledge of Key Stages 1 and 2 curricula and teaching methodologies.
  • Ability to manage a classroom and deliver structured, engaging lessons.
  • Experience in teaching a range of musical instruments.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum leadership or coordination.
  • Familiarity with international curricula such as IGCSE or IB.
  • Experience in organizing performances, choirs, or music clubs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
