The Opportunity:
As a Rugby Sports Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the PE and Games departments to deliver high-quality sports education and coaching to students across Prep and Senior School. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to develop coaching and pastoral skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of high-quality PE and Games lessons.
- Assist with the management of team fixtures and competitions at all levels.
- Contribute to the co-curricular sports programme, including extra-curricular activities and events.
- Provide pastoral support to students as part of the boarding community.
- Assist with evening and weekend duties, including supervision and care of students.
- Collaborate with experienced colleagues to enhance sports participation and student engagement.
- Participate in sports tours and special coaching days when opportunities arise.
- Support the development of students’ physical and personal skills through sports and coaching.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Recent graduate or equivalent experience in sports coaching.
- High-level playing or coaching experience in Rugby, or other sports such as Hockey, Netball, Cricket, Tennis, or Athletics.
- Well-organised, enthusiastic, and committed to promoting sports participation.
- Ability to work within a boarding community and support students’ pastoral needs.
Preferred
- Experience in strength and conditioning or sports science programmes.
- Experience with teaching or coaching in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
