The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons to students across Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Support students in achieving their academic potential through effective teaching and assessment strategies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative Science curriculum and resources.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and support where needed.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of Science teaching and learning.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to the wider school community.
  • Support students in making informed choices about their GCSE and A-Level Science pathways.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant Science degree and QTS.
  • Experience in teaching Science at Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Strong knowledge of Science curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Commitment to student achievement and personal development.

Preferred

  • Specialism in Physics.
  • Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
  • Experience with KS4 Combined Science and Triple Science pathways.
  • Experience in mentoring or leading other teachers.
  • Familiarity with OCR National and BTEC qualifications.
