Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging science lessons to Key Stage 5 students.
- Plan and implement a rigorous curriculum that prepares students for university and future careers.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school and Ark network to enhance teaching and learning.
- Support students in developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for success in science.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and support.
- Participate in collaborative planning sessions and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
- Stay up to date with developments in science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Key Stage 5 science teaching.
- Strong subject knowledge in science, with the ability to teach a range of topics at advanced levels.
- Experience in curriculum planning and delivery, with a focus on preparing students for higher education.
- Commitment to student success and a passion for inspiring the next generation of scientists.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in collaborative planning and working within a multi-academy trust or similar network.
- Experience with university readiness and curriculum planning that aligns with higher education expectations.
- Familiarity with assessment strategies, including formative and summative evaluation techniques.
- Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives and projects.
