Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging science lessons to Key Stage 5 students.
  • Plan and implement a rigorous curriculum that prepares students for university and future careers.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school and Ark network to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Support students in developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for success in science.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and support.
  • Participate in collaborative planning sessions and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Stay up to date with developments in science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Key Stage 5 science teaching.
  • Strong subject knowledge in science, with the ability to teach a range of topics at advanced levels.
  • Experience in curriculum planning and delivery, with a focus on preparing students for higher education.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for inspiring the next generation of scientists.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in collaborative planning and working within a multi-academy trust or similar network.
  • Experience with university readiness and curriculum planning that aligns with higher education expectations.
  • Familiarity with assessment strategies, including formative and summative evaluation techniques.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives and projects.
