The Opportunity:

As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Science Department by preparing and maintaining laboratory resources. This is an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic learning environment where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, store, and dispose of chemicals safely in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Provide equipment, resources, and chemicals to support practical lessons across the science department.
  • Set up and maintain laboratory apparatus as requested by teachers and students.
  • Assist with the organisation and management of science equipment and materials.
  • Ensure all laboratory areas are clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety standards.
  • Support the delivery of science lessons by preparing experiments and demonstrations.
  • Maintain accurate records of laboratory usage and inventory.
  • Collaborate with science teachers to ensure resources meet the needs of the curriculum.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a laboratory environment.
  • Ability to handle and store chemicals safely.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a science laboratory or technical support role.
  • Understanding of science curriculum and practical teaching requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and support the school’s mission and values.
