The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Head of Mathematics to lead and develop the Maths curriculum in Key Stages 3 and 4, with a focus on inspiring students and achieving high standards. This role offers the opportunity to coordinate a small senior department and shape the future of mathematics education at a school committed to academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the Mathematics department across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Develop and implement a high-quality mathematics curriculum
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the expansion of the curriculum
  • Manage and deliver effective teaching and learning in small classes
  • Provide professional development and support for other members of the department
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and outcomes
  • Ensure a consistent and high standard of teaching and learning across the department

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience in teaching Mathematics at Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Experience in leading and coordinating a department
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Commitment to student achievement and academic excellence

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching to GCSE level
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms and resources
  • Experience in working with students with diverse learning needs
  • A passion for mathematics and a commitment to inspiring students
