Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Science in managing and developing the science department
- Oversee the planning, delivery, and assessment of science teaching and learning
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of science staff and students
- Provide guidance and mentorship to science teachers
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning
- Ensure the science curriculum meets the highest standards and aligns with school goals
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
- Support the implementation of school-wide initiatives and strategies
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Science teacher with relevant experience
- Proven ability to lead and support a science department
- Strong classroom management and teaching skills
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Commitment to student achievement and inclusion
Preferred
- Experience in a leadership or senior teaching role
- Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school improvement strategies
- Experience with CPD and staff development
- Strong track record in driving academic outcomes
