Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in English and History to secondary students, aligning with UK curriculum expectations.
  • Design and implement differentiated teaching strategies that support both subject mastery and language development.
  • Adapt materials and provide scaffolding for students with varying levels of English proficiency.
  • Track student progress using assessment for learning techniques and prepare comprehensive reports for families.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support school-wide initiatives and professional development opportunities.
  • Uphold the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of cross-curricular projects and school events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in History, English, Linguistics, Education, or a closely related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an internationally recognised teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching History at secondary level, preferably within a British or international school context.
  • Experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL/EAL) to students of mixed proficiency levels.
  • Strong knowledge of UK curriculum expectations, including KS3–KS4 History and EAL frameworks.

Preferred

  • Experience using assessment for learning and tracking student progress.
  • Familiarity with Globeducate’s educational values and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.
  • Experience working in a multicultural and international educational setting.
