The Opportunity:
A school is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Secondary Science Teacher to join its Science department. This role will involve teaching Science across multiple levels, including Cambridge IGCSE and IB Diploma Programmes, with a focus on Biology. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the educational experience of international students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Science instruction across Grades 5-12, including IB DP Biology and IGCSE Biology/Chemistry.
- Design and implement engaging, student-centered Science curricula aligned with international standards.
- Support students through pastoral duties, including acting as a homeroom teacher and leading one stay away trip annually.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies and share best practices.
- Participate in professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of Science education.
- Provide individualized support to students, ensuring their academic and personal growth.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant degree and teaching qualifications (e.g., BSc/B.Ed., M.Ed., PGCE, 1/2. Staatsexamen).
- Significant experience teaching Science, with a focus on Biology and Chemistry.
- Experience teaching within the Cambridge IGCSE and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programmes.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Preferred
- Experience with international students and cross-cultural teaching environments.
- Familiarity with bilingual education and curriculum development.
- Experience in pastoral care or homeroom teaching.
- Proficiency in English and willingness to teach in a multilingual setting.
