The Opportunity:

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education and support to students with autism and complex needs. You will help shape individual learning plans and contribute to a multi-disciplinary team that focuses on student growth, independence, and well-being. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement high-quality curriculum plans that are tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Create engaging and differentiated session plans that promote learning and personal development.
  • Act as a personal tutor to a small group of students, supporting them in achieving their EHCP outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver education with therapeutic approaches.
  • Support students in developing independent living skills and personal resilience.
  • Work within a structured and supportive environment that includes both classroom and outdoor learning opportunities.
  • Manage and support students with complex behaviours in a positive and constructive way.
  • Participate in the ongoing development and improvement of the school’s educational provision.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in special educational needs and autism.
  • Ability to plan and deliver structured learning environments.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Experience in working with young people with complex needs and behaviours of concern.
  • Commitment to student well-being and personal development.
  • Passion for teaching and lifelong learning.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering post-16 PSHE or related subjects.
  • Experience in coordinating or delivering vocational qualifications.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic approaches in education.
  • Experience with outdoor learning and animal therapy activities.
  • Experience in residential settings or working with students in a multi-disciplinary team.
