The Opportunity:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them achieve personal and academic success. You will contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture, working closely with students, families, and colleagues to create a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with additional needs in their learning and engagement
- Encourage pupils to achieve personal and academic goals
- Promote positive behaviour and social-emotional development
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and positive school environment
- Assist in the delivery of a personalised, autism-informed curriculum
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams
- Provide regular updates and feedback to parents and carers
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above, or ability to demonstrate equivalent skills
- Strong spoken and written English
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Preferred
- Experience in a school or SEN setting
- Understanding of autism, SEMH, or trauma-informed practice
- Willingness to learn and develop professionally
