SEND Teaching Assistant job opportunity with a supportive and dedicated school community.

The Opportunity:

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them achieve personal and academic success. You will contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture, working closely with students, families, and colleagues to create a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with additional needs in their learning and engagement
  • Encourage pupils to achieve personal and academic goals
  • Promote positive behaviour and social-emotional development
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and positive school environment
  • Assist in the delivery of a personalised, autism-informed curriculum
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams
  • Provide regular updates and feedback to parents and carers

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above, or ability to demonstrate equivalent skills
  • Strong spoken and written English
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or SEN setting
  • Understanding of autism, SEMH, or trauma-informed practice
  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally
