The Opportunity:
As SENDCo, you will lead and manage the school’s SEND provision, ensuring it continues to develop and support students with special educational needs. This role is essential in providing high-quality support to students and fostering collaboration across the school and external agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the school’s SEND provision, ensuring it meets the needs of all students.
- Coordinate the identification of students with special educational needs and/or medical issues.
- Develop and manage Individual Education Plans and coordinate annual reviews.
- Support the Study Support team, including staff timetabling and organisational tasks.
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, staff, feeder schools, and external agencies.
- Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and maintain effective records.
- Deliver appropriate support to students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
- Collaborate with Trust SENDCos and external agencies to enhance student outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
- Experience of delivering support to students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to manage and lead a team effectively
Preferred
- Experience in a similar SENDCo role
- Experience with SLDD students
- Experience of working with external agencies and parents
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices
- Experience with online applications for student access arrangements
