The Opportunity:

As a Senior Deputy Headteacher (Curriculum), you will play a pivotal role in leading and shaping the school’s curriculum, teaching, and inclusion strategies. This is a chance to influence the educational journey of students and staff alike, driving continuous improvement and inspiring a culture of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the strategic development and implementation of the school curriculum, including teaching, achievement, and inclusion.
  • Lead and support the delivery of a comprehensive Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to ensure high standards of teaching and learning across the school.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring that all learners, including those with special educational needs, achieve their full potential.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration and professional growth among staff.
  • Ensure alignment with the school’s vision and values in all areas of curriculum delivery.
  • Support the development of policies and practices that foster inclusion and equity.
  • Engage with the wider Trust to share best practice and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a Deputy or Assistant Headteacher.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with a track record of improving standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of curriculum development and implementation.
  • Experience in managing and supporting staff professional development.
  • Commitment to inclusion and special educational needs (SEND) provision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and across the Trust.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a CPD programme.
  • Familiarity with the new Ofsted framework.
  • Experience in a school rated 'Good' or 'Outstanding' by Ofsted.
  • Background in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
  • Experience in developing and leading curriculum innovation.
