The Opportunity:
As a Social Science Teacher, you will play a key role in inspiring and empowering students to achieve their full potential. You will contribute to a successful department that offers a range of subjects including Sociology, Psychology, and Criminology at both KS4 and KS5.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Social Science subjects at both Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, including Criminology, Psychology, and Sociology.
- Deliver high-quality lessons that engage students and promote academic success.
- Support students in achieving excellent outcomes, with a focus on progression to top universities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver innovative teaching strategies.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the Social Science department.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as needed.
- Participate in professional development and teacher training programs.
- Maintain accurate records and assessments for all students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Social Science subjects at KS4 and KS5.
- Proven ability to teach Criminology, Psychology, and/or Sociology.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to student success and a values-driven approach to education.
- Experience in a school setting with a track record of delivering excellent outcomes.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching at Key Stage 5.
- Experience with evidence-informed teaching practices.
- Previous involvement in curriculum development.
- Experience with pastoral support and student mentoring.
