Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Social Studies lessons aligned with international curriculum standards.
- Plan and prepare engaging and effective teaching materials that cater to diverse learning needs.
- Assess and report on student progress, using data to inform and improve teaching practices.
- Promote a positive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, cultural awareness, and respect.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, co-curricular programs, and school events.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress and school initiatives.
- Model and uphold the school’s core values, including respect, innovation, and global citizenship.
- Participate in professional development and performance management processes to continue growing as an educator.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies, Psychology, or a related field with a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent L5 qualification).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching Social Studies at the secondary level.
- Strong subject knowledge and a commitment to teaching and learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using technology and ICT tools to enhance teaching and learning.
Preferred
- Experience with teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) or working with diverse student populations.
- Experience in developing and leading co-curricular or extra-curricular programs.
- Familiarity with U.S. Common Core standards or other international curricula.
