The Opportunity:

As a Special Educational Needs Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of special educational needs. You will lead and coordinate provision, ensuring that all students receive the support they need to succeed. Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage provision for students with special educational needs, ensuring individual needs are met effectively.
  • Develop, implement, and review individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets in line with best practice.
  • Support and coach teachers and teaching assistants in inclusive teaching strategies and differentiation.
  • Monitor and track student progress using data analysis and assessment tools.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, parents, and multidisciplinary professionals to ensure holistic support.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and deadlines.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, safeguarding, and student well-being across the school.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of policies and practices related to special educational needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and proven classroom teaching experience.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND best practice and the UK SEND Code of Practice.
  • Experience in creating, implementing, and reviewing IEPs and EHCP targets.
  • Ability to lead and support staff in inclusive teaching and differentiation.
  • Strong skills in assessment, progress tracking, and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with families and external agencies.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage caseloads and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.

Preferred

  • Experience with evidence-based intervention strategies.
  • Background in working with a diverse range of special educational needs.
  • Experience in a bilingual or international school setting.
  • Knowledge of modern teaching technologies and tools.
