The Opportunity:

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will deliver specialist assessment and intervention to pupils with a range of communication needs, working within a supportive and multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils with complex communication needs.
  • Work collaboratively with education teams and other professionals to support pupil progress and independence.
  • Maintain a caseload of pupils, with the support of a designated clinical supervisor.
  • Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
  • Adhere to the standards provided in the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working.
  • Develop and implement support plans based on individual needs profiles.
  • Communicate effectively with families, carers, and other professionals.
  • Attend training sessions and work towards further qualifications relevant to the client group.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • HCPC registered.
  • Relevant experience working with individuals with complex communication profiles.
  • Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice.
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary working in a range of settings.
  • Experience of communicating with families and carers.
  • Good relationship building, analytical, and judgmental skills.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).
  • Competent in core areas of SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards.
  • Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools and intervention methods.
  • Understanding of legislation related to clinical practice and professional management.

Preferred

  • Understanding of sensory and motor differences that may impact communication.
  • Knowledge of the relationship between arousal levels and communication.
  • Full driving license and access to a car.
