The Opportunity:

As a Summer School Teacher in Design & Technology, you will play a key role in delivering a dynamic and engaging course for students aged 8-16. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire young minds and contribute to a vibrant international community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons in Design & Technology using a student-centred approach.
  • Work with colleagues to plan and implement a varied course covering resistant materials such as wood, metal, and plastics.
  • Support students through hands-on learning experiences, including shaping, joining, and finishing techniques.
  • Complete student reports and provide regular feedback to ensure progress and development.
  • Participate in planned excursions and activities to enhance the overall summer experience.
  • Maintain up-to-date resources and materials to support effective teaching and learning.
  • Encourage creativity and innovation in students through practical and theoretical learning.
  • Collaborate with other staff to ensure a cohesive and enriching summer programme.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant teaching experience in Design & Technology.
  • Ability to inspire and engage students through creative and practical teaching methods.
  • Strong knowledge of resistant materials and techniques such as shaping, joining, and finishing.
  • Experience in delivering courses to students aged 8-16.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with international students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with summer school environments and student-centred learning approaches.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take initiative when needed.
  • Experience with report writing and student assessment.
