The Opportunity:
A Supply Physical Education Teacher is needed to deliver high-quality lessons and support the delivery of Physical Education and Sport. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student development and school life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver engaging Physical Education and Sport lessons in line with the agreed syllabus.
- Mark and assess pupils’ work in accordance with national, school, and departmental requirements.
- Encourage and inspire pupils to achieve high standards of interest and performance.
- Support and assist with extra-curricular activities as appropriate.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to syllabus development and scheme of work creation.
- Keep up to date with relevant educational developments and provide feedback to the Head of Department.
- Promote and maintain high standards of behaviour across the school.
- Support Form Tutors in addressing student needs and concerns.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines and pupil well-being.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Physical Education and Sport.
- Ability to prepare and deliver lessons in line with national and school requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and development.
- Flexibility to work on a supply basis with varying hours.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching within an independent school setting.
- Familiarity with Scottish curriculum and assessment standards.
- Experience in leading or assisting with extra-curricular sporting activities.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a school environment.
