The Opportunity:

As a Swimming Teacher, you will deliver high-quality swimming lessons to students of all ages, with a focus on children aged 3–15. You will create a safe and motivating atmosphere that encourages progress and enjoyment in the water, while following the Swim England Learn to Swim framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and structured swimming lessons to students of all abilities.
  • Create a positive and safe learning environment that promotes confidence and skill development.
  • Track student progress using the school’s poolside tablet and app.
  • Work with small groups to ensure individual attention and support.
  • Ensure lessons run smoothly and on time, maintaining a consistent schedule.
  • Collaborate with other staff to support the overall swimming program.
  • Stay up to date with the latest teaching methods and swimming techniques.
  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism and enthusiasm in all interactions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Hold an SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification.
  • Experience working with children aged 3–15.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including Tuesdays and Fridays in the evenings.
  • Commitment to delivering an outstanding experience for every swimmer.

Preferred

  • Experience with the Swim England Learn to Swim framework.
  • Previous experience teaching swimming in a school or similar setting.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Passion for promoting water safety and aquatic education.
