Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and support students with a range of complex needs, including autism, ADHD, and emotional behavioural difficulties.
  • Deliver engaging, structured lessons that are tailored to individual learning needs and abilities.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistent support and communication across the school.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods to meet changing needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being through consistent, caring interactions.
  • Develop and implement individual education plans that support students’ academic and personal growth.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in developing independent living and life skills.
  • Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified or Unqualified Teacher with experience in working with young people with SEMH and complex needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach across a range of subject areas.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in planning and delivering structured lessons.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience working with post-16 students and developing independent living skills.
  • Experience in therapeutic or residential settings.
  • Knowledge of autism and mental health support strategies.
  • Experience in teaching students with emotional, communication, and attachment needs.
