Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Chemistry across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including A Level.
  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that support students of all abilities.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality schemes of work and resources.
  • Support students who find the subject challenging, as well as those aiming for higher achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning across the science department.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through pastoral care and extracurricular activities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the subject and incorporate new ideas into teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Chemistry.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach across all key stages.
  • Proven track record of effective classroom management and student engagement.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Chemistry at A Level.
  • Familiarity with the latest teaching methodologies and technologies.
  • Experience with pastoral care and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of the science department and curriculum.
