The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students aged 5–19 with autism and additional needs. You’ll work alongside teachers and support staff to deliver tailored learning experiences, promote positive behaviour, and foster emotional and social development. Key Responsibilities:
- Support 1:1 and group learning in classroom and off-site settings
- Prepare and deliver tailored learning materials and activities
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Assist with personal care routines where required
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to meet individual student needs
- Encourage independence and social development
- Participate in all aspects of school life, including outdoor learning and therapeutic activities
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Full UK Driving Licence
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
- Patience, empathy, and resilience
- Flexibility to adapt to a variety of learning environments and pupil needs
- Commitment to making a positive difference in students' lives
Preferred
- Prior experience in education or support roles
- Experience working with students with autism or complex needs
- Knowledge of therapeutic approaches and inclusive education practices
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
