The Opportunity:
As a Teacher of Chemistry, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and high-quality science education across a range of age groups, including Key Stage 5. You will inspire curiosity and a love of science, while supporting pupils in their academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver practical and investigative lessons that foster curiosity and confidence in pupils.
- Plan and implement effective teaching strategies that support academic progress and wellbeing.
- Encourage pupils to pursue further study and careers in STEM subjects.
- Contribute to co-curricular activities, trips, and parent engagement initiatives.
- Support pupils in laboratory settings, ensuring high standards of teaching and safeguarding.
- Participate in boarding/day house duties and wider school community activities.
- Assist in teaching general science up to Key Stage 4 where required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Chemistry at Key Stage 4 and 5.
- Commitment to high standards of teaching, safeguarding, and classroom management.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on additional responsibilities.
Preferred
- Experience in co-curricular or pastoral activities.
- Familiarity with STEM outreach or enrichment programmes.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (if applicable).
