Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons that promote deep learning and critical thinking.

  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students through live marking and whole class feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the English department to enhance teaching and learning across key stages.
  • Support students in developing strong literacy skills and a love for English literature and language.
  • Lead and contribute to the planning and delivery of extra-curricular activities.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages student engagement and achievement.
  • Continuously reflect on and improve teaching practice through professional development and research.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in English education.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English literature and language.
  • Commitment to inclusive and innovative teaching practices.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
  • Experience in working with students across a range of abilities.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives.
