Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging English lessons that inspire and challenge students of all abilities.
- Support the development of a curriculum that promotes creativity, critical thinking, and independent learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and continuously improve teaching and learning.
- Take on leadership responsibilities, including mentoring and guiding other members of the department.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and intervention where needed.
- Participate in the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and community engagement.
- Stay up to date with developments in the subject and incorporate innovative teaching strategies into lessons.
- Contribute to the school’s mission and values by fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).
- Proven experience in teaching English at secondary level.
- Commitment to student well-being, achievement, and personal development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a school setting.
- Track record of achieving high student outcomes and engagement.
- Experience with leading or contributing to curriculum development.
- Familiarity with Catholic education values and ethos.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL) or similar.
