The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This is a dynamic and impactful role that requires resilience, creativity, and a strong commitment to child development and education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teaching and learning through 1:1 and small group sessions
- Manage classroom resources and ensure a safe, engaging learning environment
- Take students on educational trips and visits
- Build positive relationships with students through social activities and meals
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies
- Create and deliver games and activities to support social and academic development
- Participate in therapeutic training and reflective sessions
- Contribute to the development of the academic and extra-curricular curriculum
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with children with complex needs
- Basic understanding of English and Maths
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
Preferred
- Experience in therapeutic or educational support settings
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices
- Previous teaching or support assistant experience
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
