The Opportunity:

As a University and SE Counsellor, you will play a key role in guiding students through their university application journey while supporting their social-emotional growth. This position combines university counselling with occasional teaching responsibilities within the IB DP framework, making it an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about student success and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance on university applications, course selection, and scholarship opportunities.
  • Deliver individual and group counselling sessions to support students’ social-emotional development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external organisations to enhance student outcomes.
  • Deliver occasional teaching sessions aligned with the IB DP curriculum.
  • Organise events such as university fairs and guest speaker sessions to enrich student experiences.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; advanced qualifications in counselling are preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in university or college counselling, preferably within an international school.
  • Strong understanding of global university admissions, especially for IB DP students.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching within an IB DP environment.
  • Familiarity with mindfulness practices and cultural diversity.
  • Knowledge of Mandarin or interest in learning the language.
