The Opportunity:

A Visiting Brass Music Teacher is sought to deliver individual brass lessons and lead ensemble sessions for students aged 2 to 13. This role offers the chance to inspire young musicians and contribute to a dynamic and inclusive music department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and tailored brass instrument lessons to students of all abilities.
  • Prepare students for concerts, examinations, and performance opportunities.
  • Maintain strong communication with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • Plan and assess lessons, regularly reporting on student progress.
  • Manage and maintain the school’s brass instrument stock.
  • Uphold and promote the school’s values and policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a brass performer and teacher.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Competent IT skills for lesson planning and reporting.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

Preferred

  • Piano skills for accompaniment.
  • Experience working in a school environment.
  • Ability to arrange music for brass ensembles.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
