The Opportunity:
As a Year 7 Coordinator, you will lead and support a year group, ensuring the academic and pastoral needs of students are met. This is a pivotal role in shaping the learning journey of new students, with a focus on fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support the academic and pastoral needs of a Year 7 cohort.
- Collaborate with teaching and pastoral staff to ensure consistent and high-quality student support.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student engagement and achievement.
- Liaise with parents and carers to maintain strong communication and support networks.
- Monitor and report on student progress, both academically and behaviourally.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of school-wide initiatives and events.
- Support the induction of new students and provide guidance to both students and staff.
- Promote a culture of high achievement and personal development within the year group.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a school setting.
- Strong understanding of pastoral care and student welfare.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in managing and supporting a year group.
- Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
Preferred
- Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational partnership.
- Background in curriculum development and student progress monitoring.
- Experience with Ofsted inspections or similar educational standards.
- Knowledge of extra-curricular provision and student engagement strategies.
