The Opportunity:

As a Year 7 Coordinator, you will lead and support a year group, ensuring the academic and pastoral needs of students are met. This is a pivotal role in shaping the learning journey of new students, with a focus on fostering a positive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support the academic and pastoral needs of a Year 7 cohort.
  • Collaborate with teaching and pastoral staff to ensure consistent and high-quality student support.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student engagement and achievement.
  • Liaise with parents and carers to maintain strong communication and support networks.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, both academically and behaviourally.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of school-wide initiatives and events.
  • Support the induction of new students and provide guidance to both students and staff.
  • Promote a culture of high achievement and personal development within the year group.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of pastoral care and student welfare.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing and supporting a year group.
  • Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational partnership.
  • Background in curriculum development and student progress monitoring.
  • Experience with Ofsted inspections or similar educational standards.
  • Knowledge of extra-curricular provision and student engagement strategies.
