Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative Art and Design Technology lessons to students aged 11 to 16.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of all learners and prepares them for GCSE-level study.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support to ensure achievement and growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance teaching and learning across the school.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives that promote leadership, character development, and community engagement.
  • Support students in developing creative and technical skills through practical and theoretical learning.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and incorporate new ideas into lesson planning and delivery.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and events that promote the arts and design within the school and wider community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience of delivering high-quality Art and Design Technology lessons to GCSE standard.
  • A proven track record of achieving positive outcomes for students.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and leading creative and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Experience of working in a school with a leadership specialism.
  • Knowledge of current trends and developments in Art and Design Technology education.
  • Experience of working with students from diverse backgrounds.
