The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Hockey in the strategic development and delivery of the hockey programme.
  • Manage and mentor a team of coaches, ensuring the delivery of high-quality coaching across all age groups.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of training sessions, fixtures, and competitions.
  • Promote the sport within the school and wider community through events and outreach initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance the co-curricular experience for students.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of teams, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ensure the programme aligns with the school’s values and educational mission.
  • Contribute to the leadership of the school’s sporting and co-curricular activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in coaching hockey at a high level, ideally in a school or academy setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • In-depth knowledge of hockey coaching techniques and strategies.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programmes for players of varying abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior coaching or leadership role within a school or sports organisation.
  • Familiarity with national and international hockey competitions.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing junior coaches.
  • Knowledge of athlete development and welfare practices.
