The Opportunity:
As an Assistant Headteacher - Student Experience, you will be instrumental in shaping a supportive and inclusive school community. This role focuses on enhancing student wellbeing, engagement, and relationships across the school, ensuring every student feels valued and supported in their academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement initiatives that promote student wellbeing, inclusivity, and mental health support.
- Manage and lead the pastoral team, ensuring alignment with the school’s mission and values.
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and external partners to support student success.
- Oversee the delivery of extracurricular programs that enhance student engagement and personal development.
- Provide guidance and support in conflict resolution, safeguarding, and crisis management scenarios.
- Collaborate with academic and administrative teams to ensure a holistic approach to student care.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of student support services and make recommendations for improvement.
- Promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion across the school community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in pastoral care or welfare roles within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of child development, safeguarding practices, and student wellbeing strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse groups.
- Proven leadership experience in managing teams or projects related to student support services.
- Ability to develop and implement initiatives that promote inclusivity and mental health support.
Preferred
- Familiarity with international education systems.
- Experience with conflict resolution techniques and crisis management.
- Knowledge of British curriculum frameworks and teaching standards.
