The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Principal - High School, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the High School Principal and contributing to the strategic, operational, and financial leadership of the school. This is an opportunity to shape the future of education and make a meaningful impact on student achievement and school improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the High School Principal in shaping the school’s vision and setting high expectations for pupil achievement and teaching standards.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement the School Improvement Plan.
  • Inspire and motivate staff and students, maintaining high standards of teaching and behavior management.
  • Ensure compliance with GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.
  • Organize and implement CPD opportunities for staff and monitor PD completion.
  • Submit annual SPDL reports to corporate offices and use data to support student needs.
  • Monitor school climate and promote positive staff and student morale.
  • Support curriculum planning, resource ordering, and external assessments such as MAP and TIMS.
  • Assist with admissions, parent communication, and report card processes.
  • Facilitate external accreditation visits and work with school committees.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum 6 years of leadership experience in a reputable school.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a diverse team and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and ICT tools.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and staff.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or related field.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
  • Familiarity with U.S. national and Common Core standards.
  • Experience in school administration and strategic planning.
