Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Biology to students up to GCSE level, delivering engaging and innovative lessons.
  • Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and support the school's ambition for all students to achieve three separate Science qualifications.
  • Deliver high-quality practical science experiences in modern, specialist laboratories.
  • Support the school’s Science and Technology scholarship pathway for high-achieving students.
  • Participate in co-curricular and community activities that enhance the student experience.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Science faculty to share best practices and improve teaching standards.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students, promoting their academic and personal development.
  • Engage with parents and the wider school community to enhance the learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Biology up to GCSE.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Biology and Science.
  • Proven ability to deliver engaging and innovative lessons.
  • Experience working in a school environment, ideally in a similar setting.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and a supportive learning environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a strong Science and Technology focus.
  • Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum and assessment systems.
  • Experience with practical science teaching and laboratory management.
  • Ability to contribute to co-curricular and community activities.
  • Experience in a boarding school setting, although not essential.
