The Opportunity:

A Biology Teacher is sought to join a dynamic and growing Science faculty. This role offers the chance to inspire young minds in a school that values innovation and practical learning. The successful candidate will contribute to a curriculum that encourages students to achieve three separate Science qualifications at GCSE.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Biology to students up to GCSE level, ensuring a high standard of education and engagement.
  • Deliver lessons that incorporate practical science experiences and support the school's commitment to excellence.
  • Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and support the school’s Science and Technology scholarship pathway.
  • Participate in co-curricular activities and contribute to the wider community of the school.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Science faculty and support student achievement.
  • Manage and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student wellbeing and academic success.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Biology education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
  • Support students in preparing for assessments and examinations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Biology up to GCSE level.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and a supportive learning environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a collaborative school culture.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting with a strong focus on student wellbeing.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching techniques and practical science education.
  • Experience in contributing to co-curricular and community activities.
  • Background in STEAM education or related fields.
