The Opportunity:
As a Boarding Staff member, you will be responsible for the wellbeing, safety, and pastoral care of all boarding pupils. This role is integral to the school's community, offering the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to both the boarding and wider school life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the wellbeing, safety, and pastoral care of all boarding pupils
- Create a warm, welcoming, and structured boarding environment
- Undertake defined daytime duties that contribute to other areas of school life
- Communicate effectively and sensitively with children, parents, and colleagues
- Work collaboratively with boarding and wider school staff
- Remain calm, measured, and supportive under pressure
- Demonstrate a commitment to the school’s policies and safeguarding procedures
- Be a positive and organised presence within the boarding house
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A strong understanding of children and a high degree of patience, tolerance, and emotional maturity
- Commitment to operating in accordance with the school’s policies and safeguarding procedures
- Ability to work collaboratively within boarding and across the wider school staff
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Preferred
- Emotional intelligence and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Experience in learning support, sports coaching, nursery or early years provision, or pastoral support
- A dynamic, positive, and organised approach to life in the boarding house
- Willingness and enthusiasm to contribute to the wider life of the school
