The Opportunity:
As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in preparing and serving food to staff and students. This is a part-time, permanent position, ideal for someone who is passionate about contributing to a welcoming and supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve meals to students and staff in a clean and efficient manner.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all food preparation and service areas.
- Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist with the storage and organisation of food supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth operation of the catering service.
- Monitor food stock levels and report any shortages or issues promptly.
- Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors.
- Support the school in meeting dietary requirements and special needs where applicable.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in a catering or food service role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Good knowledge of health and safety standards in food preparation.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including term time only and specific days of the week.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred
- Experience working with children in a school environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Flexibility to work within a busy and dynamic team.
- Previous experience in a school catering role.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary for a part-time role.
