The Opportunity:
As a Custodian (Security Officer), you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors. This position is essential for maintaining a welcoming and secure environment across multiple sites within the school group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors at all times.
- Operate and monitor CCTV systems and manage electronic access control.
- Provide a professional and friendly reception service to all visitors.
- Support the school during events, ensuring smooth operations and safety.
- Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and alarm activations.
- Manage parking and post operations efficiently.
- Assist with key distribution and access control procedures.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A valid security or related qualification, or equivalent experience.
- A clean criminal record and willingness to undergo full child protection screening.
- Experience in a security or custodial role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience with CCTV systems and access control technologies.
- Previous experience in a school or educational environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- First aid or emergency response training.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Annual salary of £27,164.80 plus an on-call allowance of £1,606.42.
- Flexible working hours with a 5-day rota (including evenings and weekends).
- Opportunities for on-call shifts and weekend off based on school requirements.
