The Opportunity:
As a Deputy English Curriculum Leader, you will support the Head of Department in leading the English curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4. This role is pivotal in driving high standards of teaching, learning, and student outcomes, while contributing to the school’s overall vision and priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Department in developing and implementing a high-quality English curriculum.
- Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning practices to ensure consistent standards across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Lead and manage the planning, delivery, and assessment of English lessons.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and support professional development.
- Contribute to the development of whole-school strategies and initiatives.
- Provide guidance and support to teachers and students to enhance learning outcomes.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to student achievement.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in teaching and learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in English curriculum leadership.
- Strong knowledge of the English curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team of teachers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in driving improvements in teaching and learning outcomes.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Familiarity with inclusive education and supporting vulnerable students.
- Experience in leading or contributing to whole-school improvement initiatives.
- Strong understanding of current educational trends and best practices.
