The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy Headteacher to join our leadership team on a one-year fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for someone passionate about driving school improvement and fostering a positive, inclusive culture that supports student achievement and well-being. The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher to shape strategic priorities and lead key initiatives across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Headteacher in driving school improvement and strategic development.
  • Lead and manage agreed areas of responsibility within the school.
  • Promote high-quality teaching and learning across all departments.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive school culture and support student well-being.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with staff, students, and the wider school community.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of initiatives to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff to support professional development and performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student well-being.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Headteacher and other members of the leadership team.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading school improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with the Manx National Curriculum.
  • Experience in managing large-scale projects or strategic change.
  • Background in pastoral care or student support services.
  • Experience with extracurricular and community engagement programs.
