The Opportunity:
As a Deputy Hotel Manager, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences while upholding high standards of education and hospitality. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Hotel Manager in the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring smooth running and high standards of service.
- Oversee guest experience from initial enquiry through to post-stay review, maintaining a focus on quality and satisfaction.
- Manage and supervise staff, including conducting appraisals and delivering training to ensure team development and performance.
- Monitor and maintain commercial performance, including managing bookings on OTA platforms such as booking.com.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and safeguarding standards across all hotel operations.
- Collaborate with the Hospitality Programme Lead and Senior Leadership Team to align hotel operations with educational goals.
- Assist in rota planning and event management, ensuring seamless delivery of hotel functions and events.
- Maintain and improve standards of food, service, and accommodation to enhance the guest experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven management experience in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Experience running a hotel or department independently in the absence of the manager.
- Strong supervisory experience, including conducting appraisals and delivering training.
- Strong understanding of hotel performance and commercial awareness.
- Experience managing OTA platforms, particularly booking.com.
- Knowledge of HACCP, food safety legislation, licensing, and health and safety compliance.
- Confident use of EPOS and hotel booking/property management systems.
- Experience planning and delivering events and functions.
- Level 2 Maths and English or equivalent.
Preferred
- Experience working in a training or educational environment.
- Previous experience with young adults or individuals with special educational needs.
- Experience in a similar role within a hospitality training setting.
