The Opportunity:

As a Deputy Hotel Manager, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences while upholding high standards of education and hospitality. This is an opportunity to lead and inspire in a dynamic, real-world setting where every guest interaction contributes to meaningful learning outcomes for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Hotel Manager in the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring smooth running and high standards of service.
  • Oversee guest experience from initial enquiry through to post-stay review, maintaining a focus on quality and satisfaction.
  • Manage and supervise staff, including conducting appraisals and delivering training to ensure team development and performance.
  • Monitor and maintain commercial performance, including managing bookings on OTA platforms such as booking.com.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and safeguarding standards across all hotel operations.
  • Collaborate with the Hospitality Programme Lead and Senior Leadership Team to align hotel operations with educational goals.
  • Assist in rota planning and event management, ensuring seamless delivery of hotel functions and events.
  • Maintain and improve standards of food, service, and accommodation to enhance the guest experience.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven management experience in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Experience running a hotel or department independently in the absence of the manager.
  • Strong supervisory experience, including conducting appraisals and delivering training.
  • Strong understanding of hotel performance and commercial awareness.
  • Experience managing OTA platforms, particularly booking.com.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, food safety legislation, licensing, and health and safety compliance.
  • Confident use of EPOS and hotel booking/property management systems.
  • Experience planning and delivering events and functions.
  • Level 2 Maths and English or equivalent.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a training or educational environment.
  • Previous experience with young adults or individuals with special educational needs.
  • Experience in a similar role within a hospitality training setting.
