The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Design and Technology Teacher to join a dynamic and growing department. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the curriculum and inspire students in KS3 and KS4. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering creativity, encouraging independent thought, and making meaningful connections between learning and the real world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Design and Technology lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum.
- Support students in developing practical skills in Food, Catering, Hospitality, and Product Design.
- Manage and motivate students in a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the department’s teaching and learning strategies.
- Contribute to the development and expansion of the Design and Technology curriculum.
- Promote creativity, innovation, and a love of learning among students.
- Encourage independent thought and help students make meaningful connections between learning and the real world.
- Participate in professional development and ongoing training opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant degree with willingness to complete teacher training.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to deliver engaging and high-quality Design and Technology lessons.
- Commitment to student success and a belief in the power of great teaching.
Preferred
- Experience in Food, Catering, or Hospitality within Design and Technology.
- Background in Product Design or related fields.
- Experience with teaching English as a Second Language (ESOL).
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
