The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Design and Technology Technician to join a dynamic and successful department. This role is essential in supporting both students and staff, ensuring the smooth operation of the department and maintaining a safe, well-equipped learning environment for all year groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain all equipment and materials to ensure they are in good working condition and fit for purpose.
  • Provide technical and practical support to students and staff across all year groups.
  • Ensure a safe and secure learning environment in all Design and Technology areas.
  • Assist with the preparation and organisation of lessons, resources and materials.
  • Collaborate with subject specialists to support the delivery of the curriculum.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment, consumables and stock levels.
  • Support the department in achieving high academic results and student engagement.
  • Contribute to the overall development and success of the Design and Technology department.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a Design and Technology Technician or in a similar technical role.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a school environment.
  • Experience in maintaining and managing equipment and materials.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with GCSE and A Level Design and Technology curricula.
  • Experience with CAD software or other design-related technologies.
  • Previous experience in a high-achieving academic department.
