The Opportunity:

As a Junior Class Teacher KS2, you will take full academic and pastoral responsibility for your class, ensuring a supportive and inspiring learning environment. You will be a key member of a small team and play a vital role in the school’s mission to provide individual care and support for all pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a class of KS2 students, ensuring academic progress and personal development.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across the curriculum, with a focus on creativity and engagement.
  • Maintain a strong relationship with parents, colleagues, and learning support staff to support student well-being.
  • Plan, prepare, and resource lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and educational goals.
  • Participate in extra-curricular activities, assemblies, and school events, including residential visits.
  • Support the development of one curriculum aspect within the junior section, sharing insights and updates with colleagues.
  • Attend INSET days, staff meetings, and parent events as required.
  • Contribute to the school’s continuous improvement by embracing new initiatives and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in KS2 education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to teach across a range of abilities.
  • Commitment to pastoral care and student well-being.
  • Experience in curriculum planning and assessment.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
  • Familiarity with teaching English as a Second Language (ESOL).
  • Experience in school-wide initiatives or professional development programs.
  • Flexibility to support movement between classes and year groups as part of the school’s cycle.
