The Opportunity:

As a Deutsch Teacher at a primary school, you will play a key role in shaping young learners' language skills and fostering a love for learning. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging German lessons tailored to students' varying levels of ability.
  • Support the GAL/DAF department and contribute to the development of language programs.
  • Promote a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity and independent learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Monitor and document students’ social and emotional well-being, and communicate with the Student Support Service Team when necessary.
  • Set clear, achievable expectations to support student development and progress.
  • Continuously update and refine your subject knowledge and teaching methods.
  • Align with and actively contribute to the school’s mission, values, and the IB Learner Profile.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified with a state exam in primary school teaching German or equivalent bachelor/master’s degree in German or Germanistics.
  • Proven experience as a German teacher at the primary level.
  • Strong command of English.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and quality education.

Preferred

  • Experience in an international school setting.
  • Familiarity with the IB curriculum and teaching principles.
  • Experience with student support and social-emotional learning.
