The Opportunity:
As the Director of Sport, you will lead the development and delivery of a dynamic and diverse sports programme across the school. This is a key role in a school that values excellence, participation, and the overall well-being of its students. The position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of sport at the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for sport that aligns with the school’s ethos and values.
- Lead and manage the sports programme across the Prep and Senior schools, ensuring high standards of delivery.
- Oversee the Physical Education curriculum and its delivery, including staff recruitment and allocation.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Admissions team to support outreach and scholarship initiatives.
- Work with the Director of Estates to plan and manage the development of sports facilities.
- Ensure effective communication with parents, staff, and students regarding fixtures, events, and departmental updates.
- Manage the sports department’s budget and resources effectively.
- Support the identification and development of students on the sports scholarship pathway.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
- A clear vision for sport that aligns with the school’s values and ethos.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills.
- Experience in a co-educational school environment, preferably boarding and day.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- High standards in educational provision and customer service.
Preferred
- Personal understanding of sports performance at an elite level.
- Experience in managing large-scale sports events or tournaments.
- Knowledge of sports scholarship pathways and student development.
