The Opportunity:

This role is ideal for someone passionate about early childhood education and dedicated to fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment for children aged 6 weeks to 4 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the care, development, and wellbeing of babies and young children in a stimulating and inclusive environment.
  • Work closely with senior practitioners to deliver high-quality early years education and care.
  • Plan and implement activities that promote the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of children.
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for children at all times, following safeguarding and welfare policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to support children's learning and development.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
  • Flexibly cover shifts across the nursery’s operating hours as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 3 qualification in Childcare (or equivalent) or currently working towards level 3 with a current L2.
  • At least 12 months’ experience working within an early year setting.
  • A genuine passion for early childhood education and a child-centred approach to care.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts in line with the operational needs of the nursery.

Preferred

  • Experience working with children aged 6 weeks to 4 years.
  • Knowledge of early years curricula and best practices in child development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in delivering care and education in a team environment.
